Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia joined officials from the Consulate General of Peru in Miami and community and business leaders for a news conference regarding the elections in the southern country

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL (June 1, 2026) – Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia joined today representatives from the Consulate General of Peru in Miami, along with community and business leaders, for a news conference at Elections Headquarters in Doral to provide important information regarding Peru’s upcoming Presidential Run-Off Election on June 7.
Through its consulates, Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is providing official guidance and information to help Peruvian citizens living abroad exercise their right to vote.
For Peruvian citizens residing in the Miami area, the voting location has changed and will now be held at:
Miami Dade College – Kendall Campus
11011 SW 104th Street
Miami, FL 33176
Voting will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Free parking will be available.
“Miami-Dade County is home to vibrant international communities whose voices and civic engagement extend far beyond our borders,” said Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia. “Through our Elections Around the World initiative, we are proud to help share trusted, official information so eligible voters can participate in the democratic process. Democracy is strengthened when citizens are informed, engaged, and empowered to vote. A healthy democracy anywhere strengthens the cause of democracy everywhere.”
Ambassador Bernardo “Bernie” Navarro, United States Ambassador to Peru, also emphasized the importance of civic participation and the longstanding ties between the United States, Peru, and South Florida’s Peruvian community.

“Peruvians in South Florida play an important role in strengthening the relationship between our two nations,” added Ambassador Bernie Navarro. “Voting is one of the most meaningful ways citizens can shape their country’s future. I encourage all eligible Peruvian voters to review the official information provided by the Consulate General of Peru in Miami and make a plan to participate on June 7.”
For his part, the Consul General of Peru in Miami, David Vergara Pilares, calls on the large Peruvian community in South Florida to exercise their right to vote and fulfill their civic duty at the ballot box. He emphasized that, “Every vote is an active voice in shaping Peru’s future. In this way, Peruvians living abroad demonstrate our commitment to our Homeland.”
Eligible voters are encouraged to verify their assigned polling table and review official election information through the Consulate General of Peru in Miami and the appropriate Peruvian electoral authorities.
